As you can see, I've stumbled upon a very interesting Battle of the DJs competition. Roughly 300 DJs are battling for an opening spot at the BPM Festival for Bartenders, Promoters & Managers in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The entire voting process depends on one thing... social networking. To cast a vote you simply login with your facebook account, share the DJs song entry on your wall and email an invitation to your friends. So essentially, popularity rules all. There is also an alternative way to supporting your favorite DJ and that is by taking advantage of a special offer from the many sponsors of the competition such as DirectTV, Netflix DVD rental, Blockbuster or something as simple as coffee, which will earn your favorite DJ SuperPoints. Competition Sponsored in part by AudioAcademy.fm, Awdio.com, BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and many more.

Underground Rap Artists – Redefining The Music Industry

Underground or independent music refers to any style of music that lies outside the boundaries of commercial, mainstream music. Underground music is characterized by abrasive and gritty beats, intense and heavy lyrical content, an overall dark personality, and an enigmatic atmosphere. For instance, underground rap can be easily identified by its epic, hard-hitting beats. Although the fans of mainstream rap may be driven away by the concepts in independent rap, music lovers with open minds are sure to have a very enjoyable listening experience.
